Today we’re sitting down with another bHaptics and VR community legend, FarmerTrue!
Interview has been edited for readability and length.
Please introduce yourself!

Hey! I'm farmertrue. A passionate VR user who strives to help grow the VR industry while helping others have fun, learn and grow! I'm a variety VR live streamer (Top 1% on Twitch), partnered content creator, hardware & VR game tester & reviewer, Pimax moderator, bHaptics mod creator, and overall VR advocate. I firmly believe that VR has so much to offer and want as many people as possible to experience it in all it's glory.
How did you come up with your channel name?
It was a name I started using back when AOL instant messenger was the preferred way for kids to communicate. We lived on a farm when I was growing up (mainly tobacco and horses). And my last name is True. So you could say I was a farmer, and with my last name being True... farmertrue. Farmers are known for their extremely hard work, helping their community and being hands on. All of which I still use today as part of my VR channels and community.

How many people in your team? Do you create content alone? I am a solo content creator, but I couldn't do this without the love and support from my phenomenal wife. I also have a few awesome moderators that help out on the live stream and community. If it wasn't for them and my amazing community, then this wouldn't happen.
What was your introduction to the world of gaming? I grew up in the late 80's/early 90's so my first memories were playing Mario on NES when I was 3 years old and Toe Jam and Earl on SEGA Genesis with my older brother and aunt.
How did creating content become your ‘thing’? This is a long response so I apologize for the book. But my journey into VR began when I found myself at a major crossroads in life. In my late teens and early adult years, I struggled with alcohol and addiction, which consumed so much of my time and energy. But in mid 2021, I made the life-changing decision to seek professional help and break free from that cycle. With the support of my family, friends, and doctors, I committed to sobriety, and that commitment completely transformed my outlook on life.
During my new life changes, I rediscovered something that had fascinated me years before: virtual reality. My first taste of VR came from a Best Buy demo years ago where I played The Climb and Robo Recall on a Rift CV1. Back then, the cost and my lifestyle made it impossible to pursue. Fast forward to 2021, when I discovered the Oculus Quest 2, I bought it immediately and was instantly hooked!
As my passion for VR grew, so did my desire to experience it at the highest level of immersion possible. I quickly realized that to truly unlock VR’s potential, I needed to dive into PCVR. That led me to spend months learning about PC hardware, watching tutorials, and saving up to build my first custom gaming PC. By early 2022, I had built a setup specifically designed to push VR to its limits. It was a turning point that combined my love for gaming and tech with my new energy and focus.
The more I got into VR, the more I noticed there was a huge lack of clear, honest, and practical information for people like me, older everyday players who wanted to get more out of VR but didn’t know where to start. A lot of content felt repetitive or too much like an ad, and there were more or less no live streamers showcasing high-end VR setups in action. So I naturally stepped in and filled that gap.

Since then, I’ve become deeply involved in the VR community as a variety VR livestreamer, partnered content creator, hardware and game tester, and a Pimax moderator. I’ve helped create bHaptics mods, helped others on Reddit and Discord, and I also manage an 18+ VR Discord community with over 900 members. My goal has always been to help push the boundaries of VR and share the joy it brings with others in a way that is high-quality, reliable, and consistent. Whether I’m reviewing hardware, testing new games, or streaming immersive VR adventures live, I focus on educating, growing, and sometimes even entertaining my audience along the way.
Why did you decide to create content with bHaptics devices? As a lover of VR, I'm always on the look for whatever can help enhance the VR experience. Once I finally decided to give bHaptics a try, I bought an X40 vest around my birthday with the money I had got. It immediately took VR up a few levels and I finally understood what was so special about bHaptics. Within the next couple weeks, I had bought the Tactosy for Arms and the new TactVisor. It just naturally started happening from there as I wore bHaptics anytime I was in VR since it added not only so much to the VR experiences but I was able to utilize it's features to become part of my live stream and content!
How do you decide what kind of content to create? I focus on making the kind of content I wish I’d found when I first got into VR: genuine, honest, and useful. I pay attention to what my community wants, cover topics others overlook like high-end setups or immersive accessories like bHaptics, and if something unique or different catches my eye, I love to share that too. My goal is to help people get the most out of VR, learn something new, all while having fun and sharing a good laugh along the way.
What are some of the challenges you’ve faced while creating content?, The amount of time, money and energy it takes to create quality, entertaining and truly helpful content. Since I have a full time job, a family and life outside of VR, it's a balancing act to even have the time to do anything VR related.
What advice would you give to a new content creator? Be genuine, have fun with it and don't be afraid to try new or different things. There have been so many times where I've seen creators get burnt out so they stop creating or their quality drops. Or some creators that only try to do the latest hype and it shows in the content they make.
Especially if they want to create content for bHaptics compatible games? Get involved with the bHaptics community! There are so many amazing people that are helpful and fun to be around.
What’s one thing you would advise a content creator not to do? Don't be fake. There's already too much filth out there. We don't need any more empty, repetitive, over-hyped VR content.
What do you like to get up to when you’re not making content? Spending time with my wife, family and dogs! Getting a nice cappuccino alongside some pastries with my wife on the weekends and then going home to be with our dogs is among my favorite things in life. I'm also a huge PC hardware nerd so I really enjoy building PC's.
Leave a shoutout message for your community! Shoutout to the farmerTRUE Crew! Y'all are truly amazing! None of this would be possible without the best community in all of VR so thank you all so very much!
